Inside Out Tracking

Inside Out Tracking refers to the technology that headsets use to locate themselves in 3d space.

Cameras are positioned on the headset and “look outwards” to locate themselves in the real world as well as locate the position of the controllers.

The Hp Reverb G2 has 4 cameras on the headset, 2 front-facing and 2 on either side.

The alternate to Inside out Tracking is External tracking. This is where light beams or cameras positioned around the room track the headset and controllers instead.
